like most extendable leads there only any good if you've first trained your dog to walk on a lead properly, to many people buy these to use with there reactive jumpy dog, so if you dogs a puller trying to choke its self out as you walk your walking them wrong, get a slip leash first and learn how to use it, takes 5 mins then you wont even need a lead because he will know to walk along side of you and go where you go, but if your like me and live in a place where you have to have your well trained perfect recall dog on a lead because of morons who dont train theirs then one of these are good you obey the law and still allow your dog some freedom, remmeber walk your dog dont let your dog walk you ( fyi some places in uk now dont even let you use these leads they must be a max length of 5 feet or you get a fine )
